Fire Acer cowl

This cowl is inspired by the beautiful Fire Maple that sits right outside of our kitchen.

This pattern is super fun, very easy to knit, looks really nice, and only takes 3 balls of Cumulus.

Fire Acer Cowl by Jeni Hewlett

The cowl is knitted in the round using two ends of cumulus, and the colours are gently transitioned through, its great because you can use colours which aren’t so good against your skin, but that you really love and wear it so that the ones that do suit you are nearest to your face.

Choosing colours for this is the fun part, Cumulus comes in lots of colours and you can choose either ones in colour families for a harmonious transition, or you can mix it up and have lots of fun.

For the fire maple colour way I used Maple leaf, Rumex and Gloaming, but then decided to mix it up a little for the second version going with the brights with a florescent twist:

Using colours Peachy, Glow and Coral.
