Childry is probably one of my oldest patterns designed by Elly Doyle back when I lived in Cardiff, it was a small triangular scarf with a frill and it’s still a fab pattern even now. I tweaked it to accommodate a mixture of yarns; Scrumptious 4ply stranded with Cumulus and made some aesthetic changes. It produces a very simple design whilst maintaining a sophisticated look. The silkyness of the Scrumptious paired with the softness of Cumulus makes this so luxurious to wear around your neck.

This version of the pattern takes 1 skein of Scrumptious 4ply and 2 balls of Cumulus, the joy in this project is choosing your colours, the fabric looks wonderful when you choose colours that are closely related as the shiny silkiness contrasts with the soft halo from the Cumulus.
We worked up some options where the Scrumptious and Cumulus were fairly close in colour to demonstrate some examples of colour combinations below:
Top left: Scrumptious Natural with Cumulus Oyster
Middle right: Scrumptious Sea Mist with Cumulus Ice
Middle left: Scrumptious Glisten with Cumulus Clay
Bottom Right: Scrumptious Persimmon with Cumulus Foxy
The second group of swathes were made using more contrasting colours of yarns.

Whilst swatching we decided to strand some Nua Sport with Cumulus and the fabric was absolutely gorgeous, so we made another sample. This one takes 3 skeins of Nua Sport in Rolling bales and 2 x Cumulus in Maple Leaf.
Nua worsted can also be used but the yardage is the same as the Cumulus so you need to bear this in mind as the patterns runs until the Cumulus is used up and then the Nua on its own..
